Struts and Shocks
If your vehicle has a problem with excessive bounce or if your tires are showing some unusual wear, you might have worn shocks or struts. (Shocks and struts perform the same function…they keep your tires on the road.) Worn struts and shocks in today’s high tech vehicle causes many more problems than most people realize. Unlike you parents’ vehicles, most of today’s vehicles have sophisticated electrical braking components which operate independently from the driver’s efforts, keeping the vehicle under control. Without your knowledge your vehicle’s computer is sending signals to the braking module telling it to apply the brakes instantaneously, for very brief periods of time, on individual wheels as it senses wheel spin which is out of range when compared to other data.
At Courtesy, we will evaluate your vehicle’s suspension, showing you the evidence of underperforming struts and shocks and help you select the right shock or strut for your vehicle.
